The term “place” refers to the geographic level below an ICS (Integrated Care System). Placed-based partnerships involve local government playing an important leadership role in recognising our shared priorities and the scope for joint action. The following themes for integration at the place level are:

Community Engagement & Covid-19 Report
This report condenses the key findings of the peer research investigation of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health inequalities of residents of Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire. It concentrates on the experiences of those residents we know to have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, analyses why this was the case, and makes suggestions for what might improve outcomes in the future based on the insights and suggestions of the participants themselves.
Child Health Profiles 2023
This profile provides a snapshot of child health in this area. It is designed to help local government and health services improve the health and wellbeing of children and tackle health inequalities.
Central Bedfordshire Health Profile 2019
It provides a picture of the health of people in Central Bedfordshire, and will support Central Bedfordshire Council and Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group to understand the health needs of the whole community so that we can work together to improve people’s health and reduce health inequalities.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has published an update to life expectancy data for Bedford Borough. The figures use the mid-year population estimates and mortality data for three consecutive years. The latest data available is for 2021-2023
