Health and well-being across the life course

The Central Bedfordshire JSNA takes a life course approach in recognition of the different physical, mental, social and environmental factors that impact on health and well-being as people grow from infants to children and young people, to adults and older people.

However, while there are many factors that differ across the life course, there are also some that are common to all. There are also some priorities that relate to a person from one life course stage but that impact on others in different stages. It is important to recognise that in many instances these priorities can be addressed more effectively through group approaches that bring together people from different life course stages, such as family-focused interventions.
